All things are uncertain right now but we are going to hope for the best. Here are the jewelry classes and events that haven’t been canceled yet due to global pandemic. I will update as I receive more information – stay tuned!
Calendar of Upcoming Events
Pratt Fine Art Center
Mechanisms: Hinges & Clasps
May 20 – June 24 – (6 Weds, 6pm-9pm)
In this intermediate level workshop you will learn how to add movement and functionality to your jewelry creations. Students will be presented with a host of creative solutions for clasps and joints, including traditional hinges with knuckles, locket latches, and closures for necklaces and bracelets; we will then select a handful to make in class. Each student can expect to complete 3-5 project samples, and will leave with improved soldering skills and new design ideas. Prerequisite: Jewelry/Metalsmithing 1 or equivalent; some prior soldering experience required.

Jewelry Open Studio at North Seattle College
Students who have already taken at least one beginning class may sign up for this class to gain additional lab time and mentoring. Bring your unfinished projects from a previous class or your new ideas; I will help you complete them and show you new tips and tricks along the way. The students in this class range from novice Beginning Jewelry students who want to keep going with what they’ve learned, to experienced artists who want to hone their skills and keep using the college’s well-appointed studio.
Class meets on Tuesday nights from 6:30-9:30pm (sorry, no Saturday hours during Summer session). Summer Session starts June 30th, 2020.
Registration opens soon. Sign up directly on the North Seattle College website.
