A Benefit For a Friend
Tonight at the High Dive in Fremont, there’s a benefit show called, “A Benefit For a Friend.” If you have time I hope you’ll stop by and join us for a little while!
The show is to benefit a coworker of mine who suffered some pretty terrible tragedies last summer and fall: he lost both of his parents (one to cancer, the other to heart disease) and is left caring for his two high-school siblings. Â It’s a lot to deal with, and we, his friends, have all pitched in to try to help. Â Now we’re asking for your help: please come! Â We have some great bands (music + dancing + fun), plus a raffle and an auction for lots of cool art and gift certificates.
My contribution is this necklace. Â Part of the funds are going to help make badly-needed repairs to the family’s house, so, I built them a house. Â The title of the piece is, “More Than Just Bricks”, and it is made of copper with sterling accents and a bit of brass tube on the back for the bail. Â The inscription reads, “Love laughter tears dreams memories”, and is signed and dated.
Details about the show are here:Â http://benefitforafriend.wordpress.com/. Doors are at 6:30, $8 suggested donation. Â I hope you’ll come out and dance with me!
