Garden Trellis Project: Complete

So, news!

Thursday, I installed a garden trellis for my mom:

Forged copper and handblown glass, appx 6’x2.5′. Metalwork by me; glass scavenged from the scrap pile at Pratt Fine Art Center’s hotshop.

Why yes, it was a gorgeous day!

While hanging out afterwards, my mom got a call from my sister, who had been on an adventure vacation — hiking and white-water rafting through canyons in (Montana? I think?). Apparently her boyfriend waited until their group got to the crest of a scenic overlook, then got down on one knee with a ring! Holy shit. Total serendipity that I happened to be there when she got the call. There are even pictures of “the question” (tho I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post them) — he’s a class act. We are all thrilled, they’re a good match.

Woo, congrats on the acceptance! The trellis looks fantastic — can’t wait to see it in person!

We just got a call from the happy couple, too. :-)

They are all beautiful. The feather colors/shapes and the enamels look elegantly matched. I’d love to see these in person.

(So glad you did find us on Sunday, too. I’m sorry my phone was not where I could hear it. It was great to see you!)
